John is the Managing Director and Principal Engineer at Ranaweera Professional Services Inc., where he leads with a commitment to advancing sustainable and high-performance engineering practices. A Chemical Engineer by training, John has built a distinguished career delivering innovative solutions across water and wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and mineral processing optimization.
Before founding RPS, John gained extensive experience managing and executing large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects for Detour Lake Gold Mine, Parkridge Lifestyle Communities Inc., the Town of Midland, and Alamos Gold’s Magino Mine. His work has included designing and optimizing treatment systems, improving plant efficiency, and developing process strategies that enhanced operational safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Driven by a desire to elevate industry standards, John established RPS to bridge the gap between practical engineering execution and long-term sustainability. Under his leadership, the firm has become known for delivering technically robust, client-focused solutions that prioritize safety, reliability, and measurable performance improvement.

Judith is the Manager of Business Development at Ranaweera Professional Services Inc., where she plays a key role in driving organizational growth and strategic expansion. With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting, Judith brings a unique blend of business acumen and operational insight to the team. At RPS, Judith oversees business development initiatives for engineering projects, focusing on project planning, operational efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and financial management. In this role, Judith leads to strengthening client partnerships and advancing the firm's mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions.
